সুপ্রিয় এইচএসসি পরীক্ষার্থী বন্ধুরা, শুভেচ্ছা নিয়ো। আজ তোমাদের ইংরেজি প্রথম পত্র থেকে দু’টি Paragraph Writing নিয়ে আলোচনা করব।
Peace Movement
War is a curse for human civilization. War brings death and destruction. There are some organizations in the world working for establishing peace. A peace movement is a social movement that aims at ending a particular war or all wars and minimizing inter-human violence. It works to achieve world peace. To achieve the goals, the peace movement activists apply different methods such as advocacy of pacifism, non-violent resistance, diplomacy, boycotts, demonstrations, peace camps; supporting anti-war political candidates and banning guns, creating open government, direct democracy. They also support people who expose war-crimes or conspiracies to create wars. Different organizations involved in peace movements may have some different goals, but one common goal is sustainability of peace. Peace movement is basically an anti-war movement. Man should not start war over language, race, natural resources, religion or ideology. The first peace movement started in 1815-1816. The first such movement in the United States was the New York Peace Society. It became an active organization, holding regular weekly meetings, and producing literature. The United Nations was founded to maintain peace and resolve inter-state conflicts in the world. The world leaders should work unitedly to make the world an abode of peace and humanity.
Myth and Literature
Myth means a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events. The word myth comes from Ancient Greek ‘Mythos’ meaning speech, narrative, fiction, myth, plot. Literature means written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit. Myth and literature are part of cultural heritage of a country. Myths are narratives formative or reflective of social order or values within a culture. Myths are narratives representative of a particular epistemology or way of understanding nature and organizing thought. Mythic Narratives often involve heroic characters who mediate inherent, troubling dualities, reconcile us to our realities, or establish the patterns for life as we know it. Literature describes the life, culture, customs, people of a society or a country within a particular time or universally. Literature can be called the mirror of life. The poets, novelists, writers observe the life and dissect them in their writings. The person who doesn’t study literature can’t understand life properly. Bangladesh has a long heritage of myths and literature. They are the part of cultural asset. We should preserve the myths and literature of our country to preserve the culture of our country.
