Female Education

Education is the light that removes the darkness of ignorance. It is a mental and moral training that makes a man a complete citizen. It teaches a man to choose the right thing in life. It also helps man to become aware of his duties and responsibilities. Female education means the education of the girls. Women constitute half of the total population of our country. Without the proper development of the women, no progress of our country is possible. So to develop the condition of the girls, the necessity of education needs no telling. An educated mother can make an educated child and an educated nation. So Napoleon said, “Give me an educated mother and I will give you an educated nation”.

God has created both man and woman who have similar contribution in building the civilization. He has bestowed them with same qualities. So both man and woman should get the similar treatment from the society. Both have right to enjoy the basic needs of life. Education is a basic need to which every woman has the equal right. In every religion the right of woman has been preserved. So education for girls should be ensured.

At present women play significant role in our society. Though they have to do household chores, they are coming out of the boundaries of their houses. They are now being engaged in various professions and earning money. Thus they are contributing to family income. The educated women are earning more money than the uneducated women. So girls should be educated so that they can make them competent for the job markets. By being highly educated, many women have already proved their worth. They have become doctors, engineers, pilots, teachers. Even many women are joining many challenging jobs such as army, navy, and journalism. By receiving education, women have proved that they are not weaker sex rather they are ready to face any challenge.

Today’s girls are tomorrow’s mothers. So every girl should be educated properly so that they can be a good mother. An educated mother knows well about her duties. She can bring up her children properly and give them nutritious foods. She sends both male and female children to schools and treats them equally. The future of a child depends largely on its mother. So, educated mothers can build healthy, educated and prosperous nation. Even an educated woman can help her husband in many ways. She shares the responsibilities of her husband. Only an educated wife can make a happy family.

There are some factors that stand in the way of female education. Religious superstition is one of the main factors. Many people living in villages believe that women must remain inside the houses and there is no need for them to receive education. Early marriage of the girls also hinders their education. For this, many girls have to leave schools before completing education. So we should come forward to uproot these social evils.

Our government is trying its best to make all the girls of our country educated. The govt. has made higher secondary education free for the rural girls. We should make the parents aware of the necessity of female education. We can dream of a prosperous Bangladesh if all the girls of our country become educated.
